Life Sciences Instrumentation Manufacturing
We build complex, electronic instruments, devices and equipment for the Life Sciences and Biotech industry.
Innovation and research are the cornerstones of the biotechnology and life sciences industry.
For every new breakthrough or discovery, there are complex diagnostic instruments, analytical instruments, medical devices, testing equipment and many other specialized products that need to be designed and manufactured.
But getting those products to market in a timely manner can be a major challenge for many companies.
Biotech and life sciences firms are staffed largely by scientists, biologists and researchers. Many are not equipped internally to design and build physical products. Even those that are equipped are often over committed and behind schedule.
We work with life sciences and biotech OEMs large and small.
As a leading provider of life science instrumentation manufacturing solutions, we deliver a comprehensive, turnkey service that includes:
- US-based manufacturing – All assembly is conducted at our 33,000-square-foot facility in Newburyport, Massachusetts, ensuring superior quality control and streamlined communication. This centralized operation reduces lead times and keeps production under one roof.
- Regulatory expertise – Our team specializes in navigating complex FDA guidelines and ISO 13485 standards, ensuring your devices meet the most rigorous compliance requirements. We provide peace of mind by staying current with evolving regulations.
- Longstanding supply chain relationships – Trusted partnerships with suppliers allow us to secure high-quality materials while maintaining reliable timelines. These connections also enhance our ability to adapt quickly to supply chain disruptions.
- State-of-the-art technology – We employ the latest manufacturing equipment and cutting-edge processes to deliver products with unmatched precision. This technology-driven approach ensures efficiency and superior outcomes.
- Extensive technical expertise – Our seasoned engineers and technicians offer innovative solutions to complex manufacturing challenges. From concept to production, we bring in-depth knowledge to every phase of your project.
- Full range of manufacturing services – We offer support across all stages, including design, prototyping, assembly, testing, and packaging. Our integrated services ensure consistency and quality from start to finish.
- Adjustable floor space – Our versatile manufacturing facility can scale to handle projects of any size or complexity. This adaptability supports your business as it grows and evolves.
- Customized technician training – Our technicians receive training tailored to the unique requirements of your product. This focus ensures accuracy, consistency, and adherence to your specifications.
- Competitive pricing and strict cost controls – We deliver exceptional value through cost-effective processes and transparent pricing. Our commitment to efficiency helps you achieve your goals without exceeding your budget.
Examples of past instrumentation manufacturing projects:
Our experience with biotechnology and life sciences firms is wide and varied. Here are some examples of past projects:
- Automated Protein Digestion instrumentation: We designed and built an automated system for in-gel or in-solution digestion of proteins prior to mass spec, MALDI, LC/MS analysis. Precision mechanical assemblies, electrical and electronic controls, robotics and liquid handling technologies are the key attributes to this instrument.
- Spectroscopy: We developed instrumentation for high through-sample measurement for microtiter plates or slides using Raman spectroscopy. System configurations consist of automated precision mechanical and electrical controls, robotics, data storage, and laser technology.
- Array Printing: We designed and developed Instrumentation to accomplish the task of printing live cell arrays, biofabrication/bioprinting and tissue engineering. This task is performed utilizing automated electrical and mechanical controls, liquid handling and precision robotics.
- Protein Electrophoresis: We built instrumentation capable of high resolution fractionation of varied sample types which are then integrated with mass spectrometry or other means for data analysis. The instrument incorporates mechanical bath agitation electrical/electronic bath control, custom power supplies in a bench top format.
- Cryogenic Sample Preparation: We developed large format and bench top instrumentation to support the biobank industry. Systems provide multiple frozen sample aliquots from a single frozen biological sample. These systems span varied technologies from cryogenic thermal management, multi axis robotics, custom precision tooling, precision mechanical and electronic assemblies, power management, custom software and imbedded systems.
